The first light rail in Israel
The Red Line
The first rail line in Israel
The Red Line is Israel’s first light rail line and serves as a model for future rail lines to be constructed in Jerusalem and the rest of the country.
Other lines are expected to join the red line in Jerusalem and will combine to create an advanced urban transportation network that crosses the entire city and significantly reduces the need to use private vehicles in the city. The Red Line already serves as a convenient and rapid alternative to private travel in the city, which is proven by the large number of passengers choosing to use it on a daily basis.
